The roots of the company issue extend back to 1948 when a project component of the Baťa company construction department was established in Valašské Meziříčí, which operated under various names until 1954 when, in connection with establishment of a fuel-power base for heavy industry, it was transferred as the “Comprehensive project group" to the Mining projects in Ostrava.

The independent project centre became an integral component of the controlling company and participated in the extensive construction of underground mines in the Ostrava-Karviná region.

During the second half of the 1980s demand forced the centre in Valašské Meziříčí to seek new customers, primarily in the surrounding region. The company had to re-orientate from the original specialisation – project design of surface facilities for underground mines - to civic and industrial construction and it reorganized its entire project team for this purpose. After coming to a mutual agreement and following thorough preparation a new state company was formed as of 1/1/1991 through delimitation from the Mining projects in Ostrava, by the name of Mining projects Valašské Meziříčí (Báňské projekty Valašské Meziříčí) , which was transformed into a stock company during the 1st wave or coupon privatisation and in the middle of 2000 the name was changed to
BP projekt, a.s.

As of 1/2/2002 the part of the company concerned with project and engineering activities and realization of construction work was sold to the Technoprojekt, a.s. company, into which it was integrated as a division. Right from the beginning the new owner envisaged the existence of the company as an independent legal entity. Following the essential preparatory phase the company was separated from the division on 1/9/2002 as an independent subsidiary company by the name of BP projekt, s.r.o. Our new organizational structure enables more flexible reactions to the requirements of our business partners while maintaining the quality given by the certification according to the ISO 9001 standard. Thanks to this we can offer comprehensive services – executing studies, individual levels of project documentation and arranging engineering activities, all at very attractive prices.

The company has established a network of continually tested partners – standard sub-suppliers - to secure certain professions. The company has an important standing within the scope of the wider region of North Moravia and Silesia. However, it develops activities throughout the Czech Republic.
